RENJER is a meat snacks brand from Lund, Sweden. It’s the first brand to widely commercialize the consumption of wild game meat in Scandinavia. Our Wild Jerky stands for thin slices of wild meat, natural, sustainable and carefully dried to ensure the best possible quality. Our aim is to make you taste the pure wilderness of the North, while providing your body with clean nutrients.
The reindeer meat comes from Arvidsjaur in Northern Sweden, where the reindeer themselves roam freely and life appropriately to their species in the Nordic wilderness. The elk and the red deer meats are sourced from sustainable hunting in both Finland and Estonia.
We produce our jerky at an IFS Food certified manufacturing facility in Czech Republic, close to Prague. Our partner facility follows the strictest safety regulations.
Wild meat is close to organic, but it cannot be labelled as such. This is due to the fact that diet of the wild animals cannot be controlled, but they live freely in the nature. Additionally, wild game are not farmed animals but free grazing.
Our jerky is very high in protein, low in fat and low in carbohydrates. Apart from the high bioavailability of the protein in wild meat, according the the University of Tromsø game meat such as reindeer even has an extraordinary high content of the necessary Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids and contains significant amounts of vitamins (e.g. B12), iron and zinc, which is a result of the natural diet of the wild animals. These nutritional values make our jerky suit various diets including low carb or low fat, but also suit LCHF. The high protein content also means that our jerky can be used as a post-workout recovery snack as well as for the quick energy on the road or during and after any kind of sport. Please note that even if our products contain salt, our levels are still often lower than in competing products. A basic nutrition overview is available in the webshop. Unfortunately we cannot provide detailed information regarding vitamins and trace minerals, since testing for those is too costly at our current stage.
Our jerky, seasoning and flavours are free of common allergens, therefore our jerky should not cause you any allergies. Our jerky is naturally free of lactose and gluten.
Renjer Wild Jerky is dried meat which is ready to eat. This means no preparation is needed, just open the package and enjoy. We guarantee that our products are fresh as packaged until the expiry date. After that date we cannot guarantee that the products still have the same quality. We recommend to consume every opened package within 48 hours.
We at RENJER make sure that every bag of jerky that leaves our production facility is double-checked to ensure highest product quality. However, in very unlikely individual cases it can happen that air is entering the bag, caused e.g. by an invalid handling during shipping. In case you find such a bad package (e.g. moldy meat), please do not eat the jerky, take a picture of the front and back side of the bag and send it to [email protected]. In that case we will of course send you a replacement bag free of charge.
It’s an oxygen absorber and should not be eaten. Therefore it’s clearly labeled with “do not eat”. By adding this small piece to the packages, we can keep our jerkies fresh with significantly less preservatives, which is good for your health. So just don’t eat it and recycle it together with the rest of the packaging!
