1 bag of sold jerky = 1 tree planted in amazon
together we can help the planet
Official campaign partner
Renjer green week 2019
We have partnered up with Onetreeplanted.org to make a change. Therefore during the last week of November we are celebrating the first RENJER Green Week. During 22.-29.11.2019 we will plant one tree in Amazon Rainforest for every sold bag of RENJER jerky.
What happens after the Green Week?
After Green Friday has passed we will report the total amount of trees planted as a result. The results will be published on this page, in our social media channels and in an email to our newsletter subscribers. If the campaign ends up being a success we will think about planting trees also in the future, but unfortunately to stay profitable we cannot plant trees with the same ratio to sold products forever.
Green friday is the new black friday
The Green Week will end with Green Friday that is (surprise, surprise) the same day as Black Friday this year. With Green Friday we want to remind people that everything we consume has a effect on our planet Earth. We here at RENJER are concerned that people including you and me buy many unnecessary things during campaign days like Black Friday just because products are being sold for too cheap. We also feel that especially meat products have been demonised a lot recently and it feels bad for us because we only offer the most sustainable meats there are to offer. Consumption of electronics and clothes rarely receives the same amount of publicity as consumption of meat. In the end precious metals are being mined for our electronic devices and cotton is being picked for our T-shirts. Everything has its effect.
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Ever taken an Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!
Trees help cool the planet by sucking in and storing harmful greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, into their trunks, branches, and leaves, and releasing oxygen back into the atmosphere. In cities, trees can reduce overall temperature by up to eight degrees Celsius. With more than 50% of the world’s population living in cities—a number expected to increase to 66% by the year 2050—pollution and overheating are becoming a real threat. Fortunately, a mature tree can absorb an average of 22 kg of carbon dioxide per year, making cities a healthier, safer place to live.
WHY is our jerky better than others?
We manufacture our meat snacks only from wild game meat. The animals have always had a life in the wilderness, therefore being able to spend their time in natural habitat. This leads to a natural diet of animals.
Never ever mass farmed
Our jerky does not cause depopulation of wild animals because there are strict quotas that determine the amount of animals that can be hunted every year. Also wild animals are never fed with industrial feed or soy. The price of our raw material is dependant on the demand of the animals hunted in these quotas. Therefore if the market has a higher demand from the hunters will the price of our wild meats also increase. We are happy that our governments regulate the hunting and therefore keep our reindeer, deer and elk available for the future generations.
