The last two days we have been exhibiting at the largest organic food fair in the world BIOFACH, which is organised annually in Nuremberg, Germany. BIOFACH is quite a thing, they attract 55,000 visitors and there are more than 3000 exhibitors. If you want to walk around the whole fair, which is spread out to nine different halls and say hello to everybody it for sure takes more than a day.
Fairs like BIOFACH are a great opportunity to meet with buyers from all over the world, network with people from the food industry and to learn about new product trends. We are participating at BIOFACH as a part of the official Swedish pavilion called Try Swedish, which is amazing because in the pavilion you also get to meet other Swedish food companies and entrepreneurs.
The days at the fair are long, but the feeling after standing and talking to people for a long day is always rewarding. There are also nice events organised in the evenings, yesterday we had a chance to join a great afterwork together with all of our Nordic colleagues. Every company from the Nordic pavilions brought their products to the afterwork so we tried a bunch of cool Finnish, Danish and Swedish products. Tonight we will have dinner together with some other Swedish companies. From the sales side: We have also had a lot of interest from various buyers from all over the Europe during the fair. Hopefully we will close some good deals after the fair – fingers crossed. Another good thing about being at a food fair is that you don’t need to bring food – when you get hungry you can walk around and fill your belly with all the various delicacies presented here.
Now we still have one and half day to go before we are done here. On Sunday we are heading to Hamburg because on Monday we have a meeting with our German investor there. Let’s keep in touch!
